My Story
From Orem, Utah, Eric grew up training in all styles at a studio called, “Center Stage Performing Arts Center”. Attending different conventions like “NUVO”, “NYCDA”, and competing in ballroom growing up, Eric won many awards centered around dance.
Eric placed top 6 in the nation in both U18 and U21 latin ballroom, as well as top 14 in the world at the Paris Open World Championships in U18 latin ballroom. Eric also competed in multiple Shakespeare competitions during his youth and enjoyed learning how to sing as well.
Shortly upon his high school graduation, Eric recieved a full tuition ballet scholarship to Utah Valley University, and later went on to apprentice for Utah Metropolitan Ballet. Eric continues to perform with UMB today, playing as Drosselemeyer at their annual Nutcracker.
Eric has toured with The Stander Company Inc with various productions such as, “Dance to the Movies”, and “Dance to the Holidays”, and has also enjoyed working several industrials, his favorite being at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for “Arbonne”
Eric’s passion for theater knows no limits. His favorite roles include: Ensemble in “Take the Lead” (Paper Mill Playhouse), Laurie Laurence in “Little Women”, Ren McCormack in “Footloose”, and Scott Hastings in “Baz Lurhmann’s Strictly Ballroom the Musical” .
Eric has been teaching partnering and ballroom classes for over 12 years, setting several pieces of choreography at competitive ballet, jazz, and ballroom studios. One of Eric’s favorite memories of teaching was when he was able to teach ballroom at the Provo, Utah Streetz Dance Convention.
